It’s about you. It’s personal. You’re not racing against anyone else. You only get one first time, so just enjoy the experience.

Thank you for the birthday wishes and for staying patient with me through our move. We are officially settled in our new place and have said goodbye to our home of 3 years.
Now we are looking forward to making memories in our new home. This is where we will be living when we become a married couple. My bridesmaids and I are already planning the fun we will have here the night before the wedding.
On a running-related note, I have been loving my new Brooks Ravennas! Thank you for your advice and comments. I did NOT pay full price for the shoes- I got a discount through my running club, The Sneaker Factory. I think switching it up from my beloved Mizunos was a good idea- for now.
Yesterday I took Cooper on a two mile run in the snow. He did a great job and we averaged an 8:20 pace. I just wish he wouldn’t stop and smell things every 2 seconds. Any tips for running with your dog? I’m hoping to add a little distance here and there to eventually get him up to 4-5 miles.

I wrote a post about running with Penny ( my lab) and VanessaRuns did as well. Its all about listening to your dog! If they stop often it could mean they are tired but keep doing it and they will improve
I always check to make sure she’s not limping after as well
Penny & I are up to 5K!!
Hey, wait a second! You’re not even married yet and I’m being replaced by a dog. I promise I’ll try to increase my pace next time..
I keep my pup on a short leash and I run on the road and keep her on the sidewalk so she isn’t tempted by the side of the road and all the good smells. I stop once halfway on our 3 mile jaunts to let her sniff and go potty if needed….she prefers running to sniffing though!
I run in Brooks Ravennas and love them! They are awesome!
Congrats! Do we get to see pics of the new place?
I love running with my dog. I kept running on the same trails and after a while, she stopped smelling as much. She knew where we were going and what to expect. Maybe if you take Cooper on the same route for a while, it will improve?
I run with my German Shorthaired Pointer and we always keep her on a short lead–on walks, while running, etc. If she is off-lead in the park or our yard, she can sniff. Otherwise, it is all business and no sniffing. When we first started running, she would have to stop and pee or poop but now she know to do her business before we go and she never stops. If she seems to be wandering or too far in front of me, I give her a quick tug and say “here” and she settles in right beside me.
My dog is only 5 lbs so she doesn’t make it very far
Moving is so stressful! Happy to hear you’re getting settled. How exciting that this will be your “first home” as husband and wife!
Happy house-warming wishes from this side of the world!
It’s great that you can take Cooper for a run. Molly and I only do short sprints together (I’m scared that a three legged Malamute would outrun me – she’s fast) but as long as we both end up sweaty and smiling that’s all that matters
Awww congrats on the move!! How exciting!!!! And cooper is FAST! I’m impressed!!!!!
Congrats on the move! I wish I could run with my dogs – but one’s too old and slow, and the other’s too crazy fast. Cooper sounds like a great running buddy
I LOVE my Brooks! I will sometimes think I want to change to a new brand and I’ll buy a different brand, but wind up taking it back. Currently, Brooks Ghosts are my favorites.
I don’t have a dog, but my parents do. He’s a six pound Maltese, so needless to say, he doesn’t run very well. He will run fast for about 2 minutes, then stops and wants for me to pick him up and carry him!

Hey Keri–
Where are you at? I’ve been missing your updates…how is running going? Wedding planning? The new place?
Miss your blog…please come back!
