So much is going on at work right now, but since this is not a place to complain… I will share some inspirational quotes with you.
*If you want to reach a state of bliss, then go beyond your ego and the internal dialogue. Make a decision to relinquish the need to control, the need to be approved, and the need to judge. Those are the three things the ego is doing all the time. It’s very important to be aware of them every time they come up.
~Deepak Chopra (Taken from The Fitnessista)
*I couldn’t wait for success, so I went ahead without it.
~Jonathan Winters
*I honestly think it is better to be a failure at something you love than to be a success at something you hate.
~George Burns (Taken from Angela)
*Instead of focusing on all the things I can’t control, I am enjoying the moments in front of me. The marathon is going to be an amazing journey and I get the chance to write the ending.
~Shalane Flanagan
*Running in the morning has me appreciate all the choices that come later in the day. The choices I make after running seem healthier, wiser and kinder.
~Deena Kastor
That’s the thing about running: your greatest runs are rarely measured by racing success. They are moments in time when running allows you to see how wonderful your life is.
~Kara Goucher
I was feeling stressed after a work meeting yesterday, so what better way to deal with it than go for a run?
5 miles with my dad @ 8:39 pace.
A good run always helps my mood. Unfortunately, I felt a sharp pain in my right kneecap every time my foot struck the ground. I started landing more on the front of my foot (I have been heel striking for some reason lately) and the pain went away. I think I need to get another pair of shoes to alternate (just like the very wise Ana-Maria told me months ago…)
*What type of shoe do you run in?
My beloved Mizuno Wave Inspires are a stability shoe. I want to look into a neutral shoe to alternate with. This will also make my mizunos last longer, and of course, you know they have a very special place in my heart!
*Any suggestions?
*Do you have a favorite quote or website of quotes?
I keep word documents of various types of quotes I like to look to when I need inspiration. I also get the Runners’ World quote of the day emailed to me each morning.
