This weekend was consumed with all things wedding! Yesterday, Dan, his parents, my parents and I went to visit 3 possible venues for the wedding. It was a long day but very productive and informative.
This morning, I woke up early for a 15-miler with my dad. My legs were still tired from Friday’s 20, so we took it nice and easy at a 9:12 pace. It was a hilly course which was a nice change from the treadmill.
After the run, my mom, sister and I headed to a bridal show and one of the potential sites for the wedding (and my number one contender!)
This was the first bridal show I had ever been too and we had a blast!
There was champagne, tons of food, and best of all…CAKE!
It was the perfect way to refuel after a hilly 15-miler!
In the above left pic, I am on the phone with Dan, telling him he needed to drive over immediately. He didn’t listen. His loss.
Table Settings and Centerpieces
The Conservatory and Pool
Can you tell why I love this place?
Checking out a limo and Mom and Christine…
We had a blast and met tons of potential vendors!
When I got home to the apartment I was still in wedding-mode so I decided to assemble some of the gifts for my girls. I ordered these cute tags on Etsy from a store called AlmondWorks and bought some pink champagne to hang them on.
What do you think? Ribbon or no ribbon?
Coming up this week:

Wow you did have a busy weekend! I can’t believe you managed a 15 miler only a few days after the 20! Incredible! The wedding weekend looks like it was fun, great pictures! I love your purse
Wow, wedding planning really looks like a big deal. I always though that you just reserve a place, order some food, send invitations, get a dress, reserve a church/townhall or wherever you are going to get married and that’s it. Am I being too naive?
Maybe weddings here in the US are just bigger deal than in Slovakia (as are birthday parties, and any other kind of parties). Or maybe I am just too lame (yeap, that would be it).
But it looks you are having a lot of fun preparing everything! Your happiness and excitement is contagious actually. I am looking forward to hearing more about the wedding planning stuff!
And about your Boston training as well, of course:)
I like the ribbon! very cute!
I wish I’d gone to bridal shows when I was engaged. That food looks awesome!! I love the champaign idea! go with with ribbon
Ribbon! They look SO cute!
You had a super busy weekend! I am finally catching up on all my reading and wanted to comment! I did something similar for my bridesmaids, I ordered cards and had them send since none of my girls live in town- but I LOVE the tags on the champagne its super cute, definitely go with the ribbon!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the pics of the venue, I can definitely see why it is your favorite- are you guys getting closer to locking one down?
That was my biggest thing was a place because everything else would revolve around that- so I think you are smart to do your research on venues before picking one.
Aww, so much fun! Love wedding stuff! Love the ribbons too!
It looks like you are having SO MUCH FUN! YAY!
The gifts are adorable – I say no ribbons!
