Boston Training and Beta Alanine

by blueeyedrunner on January 26, 2011

Thank you for your song suggestions.

For today’s tempo run, I decided to try beta alanine. I have taken it once before, a week or two again and could not get over the tingling! It was crazy. I talked to my dad, who takes it for weight lifting and Janae, who takes it before long runs and decided to try it again. This time, the tingling was not as intense, but I’m not sure I noticed a difference in my run.

Regardless, I had a good run.

*Check out this great video of Kara Goucher talking about Boston, her son, bouncing back from pregnancy and more!
*Do you take any special supplements to enhance your workouts?
I also take magnesium w/ calcium (for absorption) to speed recovery.

Snow…Again?

by blueeyedrunner on January 26, 2011

mail.google.com Since New Jersey got hit with the 200th snow storm of the season, our school closed early today. Thank God I’m a teacher because if I wasn’t, I would be seriously sick of this snow by now! Not that I am complaining. There are plenty of things I can do with these extra two hours added to my day.

They include:
*Download new music for my ipod
*Tempo Run on the treadmill
*Call support to fix a blog issue (special thanks to Jen, who has been helping me with all of the issues I have been having thus far!)
*Study for the personal trainer test (less than a month to go…)
*Make dinner (Maybe something from here?)
Coop is loving this snow. Every time I take him out in it, I have to drag him inside.

I’m off to get going on the to do list. Want to help me out?
*What is your favorite song right now?
I am not used to listening to music while running, because when I run outside I don’t need it, but on the treadmill, I definitely need it!

Poll: Do you listen to music when you run? Always, sometimes, or never?
